Reflection 10: Logos and Corporate Identity

This week lecture topics are Logos and Brands in companies, Corporate design and how companies' workers can be efficient. By efficient, I mean how individual employee can make company's goals fast and effectively. This is quite familiar to me because when I was working in small company, my role and thoughts were very important. Boss would ask me how to improve the company, what went well and what did not in last half year. By telling these things, company that I worked for can improve itself and I can see the difference each half years.

Vision and Mission

If workers in company knows how well is the company doing then they have clear vision of what is going on. For some people that stress about being kicked out of company, the vision and mission of the company must be clear to everyone. This way employees can work without any stress. Even if employees knows that the company is not doing well, they can be prepared for being fired or work even harder to keep the company running and their jobs.

Logo

Logos are one of the most important things in companies. By looking at the white apple with one bite, I will instantly know that it's Apple's logo and what products they have. Logo itself presents a company. This way they remembers what company it was when looking at the logo again. Logo is informative and memorable like McDonald. Even though it's just M character but we know that sells burgers and fries in McDonald.

Colours

It is said that red color represents joy, love, anger and other feelings but what I wanted to say, was about the red color in McDonald. It most likely means love and joy, especially love like their slogan says: "I'm Lovin' It".This is one way to attract customers.

The use of colors red and blue are very common together like these:










For me it seems like they works well together and that's why it's quite common to see them together. It's easy to see them from the white background. These two colors seems to be people's favorite colors also which is why this is good combination.

Brands

Brands like logos are supposed to be simple and easy to memorize. Brands has to present themselves as good and trustworthy. This way brands will keep the old customers while getting new ones. In the lecture, even a human can be a brand. In my opinion that is very true because whatever gets people to know the company can be a brand. A human can advertise something about it's products and when people see this guy or girl, they know what their product is.
